Floors fit for the food industry

The preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages must be conducted in a hygienic environment. Now more than ever the flooring surface in food preparation areas are under scrutiny. The essential requirements for floors in the food industry include ease of cleaning. Surfaces must be able to withstand aggressive cleaning and sterilizing regimes including steam cleaning. In addition, preparation and process areas must be non-slip under wet conditions. Not all floor finishes are tough and durable and can resist heavy duty traffic such as steel wheeled trolleys. Ucrete, a polyurethane concrete overlay system has been used by the food industry for over 35 years. Ucrete floors are tough, resistant to a wide spectrum of aggressive chemicals, and are able to withstand temperatures between -40°C & 130°C.
