Together with the Emaco Nanocrete repair mortars that are already introduced into the market, BASF now offers a well-rounded range of products for easy and reliable repair of any kind of load-bearing and non-load-bearing concrete elements. As is the case with all Construction Chemicals “nano-products”, no nano-particles are used in the Emaco Nanocrete repair mortars: The term “nano” exclusively refers to the nano-structures created during the curing process.
65 marketing and sales specialists from 23 countries met in the Italian town of Treviso for the kickoff of the European product launch. The presentations and product demonstrations were met with great interest. The participants also had the opportunity to get a first-hand impression of the characteristics of the new products: In addition to watching presentations and demonstrations, they also had the opportunity to try them out themselves.
Emaco Nanocrete R4 is a high-strength, fiber-reinforced, low-shrink, flowable repair mortar for the restoration of load-bearing concrete parts. It is being used wherever manual or spraying application is not an option due to the existing armoring.
Emaco Nanocrete FC is a polymer-enhanced, fast-curing levelling compound for application in layers of 0.5 to 7 mm thickness. High stability combined with extraordinary processing properties facilitate smooth results on large vertical or overhead surfaces.
The new products, like the older products from the Emaco® Nanocrete range, not only fulfill but already surpass the European standard EN 1504 requirements. The new standard creates for the first time a Europe-wide approach to concrete repair and guarantees for an overall higher quality. This is because it does not only specify requirements the product has to meet but also regulates the entire concrete repair process: from the preparation of the surface, to the selection of the application method, to product selection, to application, to process quality control. As a manufacturer of high-quality products, a vanguard in technological development of the market, and a reliable partner for our customers, BASF plans to follow the new guidelines not only product-wise but also to offer practical guidance. An assortment of technical documents supports the customers in their daily work.
“It is our task to explain the new EN 1504 guidelines to our customers and help them implement them. We are the fist supplier to enter the market with such a comprehensive approach; the success we have had so far gives us the confidence to do so. Ever since Emaco Naocrete was first introduced, we have far exceeded all sales expectations. I am very proud of our team’s achievement”, said Brian Williams, head of Concrete Repair Europe.
