The Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) is a not-for-profit organisation, formed in 2006 with the goal of advancing green building principles for protecting the environment and ensuring sustainability in the United Arab Emirates.

The formation of EmiratesGBC was considered a milestone and a break through towards creating and maintaining sustainable Built-environment and protecting the ecosystem in the UAE, which became a model for the region to follow. The EmiratesGBC is an Established member of the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) having been accepted in September 2006. This made the Emirates Council the eighth national GBC to join the WGBC and the first GCC based council.
